How About a Scottish Shower? — an Energy Booster

Jan 9th, 2012 | By Fabienne | Category: Au fil des jours, Boosters, Energy Boosters

Have you ever heard of a “Scottish Shower”? That’s how we call it in French: start your shower with your favorite temperature, nice and warm, or even pretty hot… and then slowly but surely decrease the temperature until it’s only cold water flowing.

Quick, cold showers are so energizing!

If you’ve never tried, it might sound like a strange game but it really works: this is one of the most effective way to feel fresh and energetic. Hundreds of articles have already been publish to emphasize how cold showers can help with blood circulation and general tonus. But I recommend you skip litterature and just try!

Once you’ve experienced it and understood its power, how about transfering this practice to work? The idea is simple: whatever you’ve been doing for too many hours in a row, create a fresh and energizing contrast.

Create some quick, stimulating contrast during your working day

You’ve been sitting for too many hours in a row at your computer? Get up and engage in a lively business discussion with your colleagues. Do you feel really tired after some intense negociations with one of your key clients? Go out for a walk, alone, in silence.

Whatever it takes: switch to some nice, contrasting and short activity.
